Co-Hosted (with radio personality Brenda Amelard)and performed a set of my poetry at the Scripts and Scores Fundraiser.
The event raised funds for the Whistle Radio Station and Stouffville Public Library.
Poets and musicians performed the entire afternoon on May 12th.

My poem Flashback featured on The Toronto Quarterly website during April, National Poetry Month.
 
Presented a workshop on Poetry at the The Writers’ Community of Simcoe County (WCSC), on April 15th.
April is National Poetry Month. So what is poetry? What makes it so unique and why does it scare so many people? Join James Dewar in a fun, interactive presentation on “that other kind of writing”. It’s harder than it looks and easier than you think.
 
Read three poems at the Canadian Authors Association (CAA) Annual Conference in May in Orillia, Ontario.
I also hosted three readings and the announcement of the contest finalists in fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
 
Participated in the The Canadian Creative Writers and Writing Programs (CCWWP) first conference at Humber College from May 10th – 13th.

This enclave of poets met monthly at the Renaissance Cafe in Toronto, Ontario. We discussed poetry, practiced reading, shared feedback and the Artist’s lifestyle. One of the most important influences on my development as a writer. A special thanks to Allan Briesmaster for encouraging me to put a poetry manuscript together.
